It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Finally the 1st day of school is here! The girls got off just fine. I've enjoyed the peace. Joe and I went out to breakfast and then a little shopping trip for a new back pack for Kaitlyn. I wasn't going to get her one, but looking at it in the light this morning I realized it's not as good as I thought it was. So we decided we needed to buy her a new one. We got home around 12:30. Fed CJ and put him down for a nap. I then called the doctor because he has had the runs for the past three days. They weren't too much help really. I hate this virus and just having to ride them out. She told me it could last 10 days. I just have to keep him hydrated and give him binding foods like green veggies and applesauce and bananas. I should have known that's what they would say, but with his past weight issues I wanted to put them on notice of the problem.

Anyways, here are a few pics of the girls on their first day. I'm sure I'll have stories to tell when they come home in about an hour.

I don't have a picture of Natalie with her teacher because she is starting out with a sub this year. I wasn't happy about her teacher choice and neither was she. We tried to get her switched, but because there were exactly 17 in each class we had to wait for another 4th grade student to enroll. Apparently that hasn't happened. The principal could still move her a week into school, but once she saw her best friend was in her class I don't think she's going to want to be going anywhere. I think she'll do okay. Her teacher is out for the first two months of school due to a maternity leave. I suppose it could be worse. This has been very hard for Natalie though because there was a teacher she really wanted to have.

Kaitlyn's teacher doesn't look old enough to be a teacher.

Uh oh I think that means I am old.
