What about the Middle Child?

Remember her? That's Kaitlyn. My middle child now. My lovely six year old. The goofy, happy go lucky, go with the flow child of mine. I have talked a lot lately about CJ and his troubles and triumphs. I've even talked about a Natalie triumph, but there hasn't been much about Kaitlyn.

I believe I forgot to mention that before the last session this summer of swimming lessons Kaitlyn moved up to Level 2. So the last two weeks of swimming she spent in Level 2 doing a lot of this...

When she wasn't in the pool she's just been enjoying her summer and playing with her sister, or fighting whichever is most appealing at the time. Oh and we can't forget about the torture loving on her brother that she does. Yes, I get that she loves him, but does she have to get right in his face ALL the time. It's okay, CJ gets his revenge now and pulls her hair.

School starts here in nine days. This is the first year that Kaitlyn will go all day long. Hard to believe she's a 1st grader. We got her teacher assignment the other day and I was relieved to see that she did NOT get the same teacher Natalie had in 1st grade. She's very excited about her teacher assignment and I'm very happy too. Natalie on the other hand we are not so happy about. But hopefully that will change and since this post is about Kaitlyn I will share about Natalie tomorrow hopefully after I've gotten everything fixed.

So that's pretty much what Kaitlyn has been up to lately. Now that swimming is over she's been spending a lot of time in her room doing crafts. I discovered some of those crafts made it to the wall without approval first. I keep wondering at what age is she going to get that you cannot color on the walls and the furniture or anything really but paper? She very quickly forgets things that's for sure. And that's why in the shower this morning I had to remind her about five times NOT to flush the toilet on me. Because yes, she has in the past come in to go to the bathroom with me telling her just don't flush and two seconds later she's flushing.

You mean they still color on the walls at that age??? Nooo, say it isn't so! She's pretty brave on that diving board! I have an almost 9 year old step daughter that won't get up on them! Great pics! Happy POW!

Ah, my daughter colored her WHOLE LEG yesterday. It was like a really big and really Picasso-like tattoo... Hmm, now that I think about it, I really should have taken a picture. She is 4. I can not tell you how often I am telling her to ONLY color on paper. Walls and doors are some of her favorite surfaces for decoration. I feel your pain! Happy POW!

This is so nice. I know the middle child can sometimes be overlooked, so this is a lovely tribute to her. Enjoy the last few days of summer.
